St. Patrick's Day might be long gone, but Mountain View is ready to host one of the biggest celebrations of Irish culture in California this May. The Silicon Valley Irish Fleadh features a great lineup of traditional entertainment, food, and arts and crafts from across the Atlantic. This two-day event brings the best Irish dancers, musicians, and chefs to Downtown Mountain View on May 13 and 14.
There will be live entertainment on both days from noon to 7 pm. You can see Irish folk singers strumming their guitars and a troupe of traditional Irish dancers stomping up a storm. On both days, a popular U2 cover band will close out the day with a soaring tribute to Ireland's most famous rock group.
It wouldn't be an Irish celebration without a pint of Guinness or a plate fish and chips. The beer tent will be pouring your favorite drinks all day including Harp and Smithwick's. You can even purchase a Silicon Valley Irish Fleadh souvenir glass to bring home! Food vendors will be serving up a selection of tasty dishes from the old country. Get an order of Corned Beef Rolls or dig into a traditional Sheperd's Pie.
Take a break from the entertainment to browse the arts and crafts vendors. You can shop for authentic Celtic jewelry, handcrafted stone, and unique treasures from Ireland. Your children will love the kid's zone with a bouncy castle and face painting station.
Are you planning on attending the Silicon Valley Irish Fleadh? Our Mountain View hotel is only five minutes from the festival.
