Have you ever been to the Castro Street Fair? This annual community event celebrates the rich diversity and culture of one of San Francisco's most famous neighborhoods. It has been running every fall since 1974. It's a fun way to kick off the autumn season, so mark your calendar for Sunday, October 1st. The Castro is easy to reach from our Mountain View hotel by either car or public transportation.
Spend the day mingling with locals and sampling an array of delicious food from some of San Francisco's most popular eateries. There will be several stages of entertainment featuring live bands and dance troupes. Shop for unique gifts from the arts and crafts vendors who will be set up all day. You can also learn about community organizations that are an important part of the Castro neighborhood. This year the fair has a new location and will take place on Castro Street between Market and 19th Streets, as well as on 18th Street between Noe and Diamond Streets.
